Treatment Philosophy:
A thorough initial evaluation is essential to beginning the problem solving process of analyzing your specific injury, any important deficiencies that might have contributed to why you developed this problem, and/or what the best ways to begin your treatment are. You need someone who has the knowledge and experience to functionally assess not only your injured body part but who understands how adjacent body parts are affecting your injured area…how the whole system is working. Rehabilitation will only be successful if you discover and address underlying causes and factors that might be leading you into an injury or that are affected by your injury. Focusing only on treating your symptoms might feel good for the moment but isn’t likely to keep you healthy in the long run.
You are not a diagnosis or a number here…you are a unique individual who happens to have an injury or surgery that requires specific assessment and program design. Our primary focus is to help you to reach your goals of attaining the highest possible function, whether that be playing a sport, returning to work, playing with your kids or friends, or just living life!
Expertise in evaluating FUNCTION (looking at body’s joints, muscles, etc… from a perspective of how they are working in all three planes of motion in isolation as well as integrated into the whole system and how one segment effects the others) and designing rehabilitation programs using FUNCTONAL exercise approaches that a biomechanically sound and consistent with how your body works in daily life, whether that be at home, work, or play.
